One of the Most Important Things You Need to do to Lose Weight!

Michelle Sigouin Weight Loss JourneyOf all the changes that I have made in my life, the one that people are interested in the most, is my weight loss. Maybe because it’s the most visible (to the eye), change I’ve made in my life. Maybe because everybody wants to lose weight. I don’t know, all I know is that everyone wants to know the secret to my success.

They want to know what I eat, which diet I follow, how many calories I eat.They want to know if I go to the gym, what exercise program I follow etc… And they are dumb founded when I point to my head and say “The most important thing I did was I changed what’s going on up here” and that’s why I’ve been able to lose weight but most importantly it’s why I’ve kept it off!

You see, excess weight is not the problem, it is the symptom of the problem. Let me put it this way – you eat too much bad food and you don’t exercise. So most people think, ok, to solve this, I need to eat less, eat better and move more. Problem solved.

Not really. That’s really a band-aid solution, because you are not going to the root of the issue. The real problem isn’t that you eat too much, it’s why you eat too much. The problem is what’s going on in your mind. It’s the beliefs that you hold, it’s the thoughts that you have, in short, it’s the conditioning of your mind.

You have behaved in this way for so long, that it is now your normal operating procedure and if you want to change the results you are getting in your life, you need to change the ingrained behaviors you have. You don’t do this by depriving yourself of food for a short while of time, you reprogram your mind to think a certain way and then you will act in a certain way and then your results and your life will change.

Work on yourself and you will change your entire life. Once you tackle your mind and start to reprogram your long held limiting beliefs you will no longer continue the same behaviors that led to you gaining weight. Then you can explore new healthy avenues to lose weight and you will see amazing changes in yourself. And not only will you start to lose weight, but you will keep it off. No more yo-yo dieting and starving yourself, you will lose the weight and keep it off forever!

The sad truth exposed on Catfish the TV Show

For those of you who don’t know what a catfish is. A catfish is someone who pretends to be someone else online by using false information, usually to pursue a romantic relationship.

On MTV’s Catfish the TV Show, the hosts, Nev and Max help people who have met someone online discover the truth about them and bring them together.  For the most part the people they are helping are being catfished and the person they thought they were in a relationship with are not who they said they were.

For the most part, the person doing the catfishing was not trying to be malicious, they were simply looking for love and they felt that they could only do that if they were someone else. This sad truth jumps out at me with every episode that I watch. Pretty much every catfish on the show has no self-esteem, no self-love and no self worth. They don’t like themselves, and they don’t believe that they, as themselves, are worthy of love and so they pretend to be someone else and go looking for love,

I find it really sad that so many people think so little of themselves. But it’s even sadder that instead of working on themselves and learning to love themselves, they choose to escape their reality online and in the process hurt other people. It’s become so common that the term catfish has been added to the dictionary! It’s crazy!

Sadly, most of the catfish on the show are overweight women and this really hits home for me because having been an overweight woman my entire life and having suffered from low self-esteem for the better part of 28 years I completely understood the pain and emptiness these women feel. I’ve even been in an abusive relationship because I didn’t love myself enough to get out.

I wish that these women would learn what I finally learned, that no amount of love from another person will fill that hole in your heart. You need to love yourself before you can ever hope to have the love of someone else. Love from another cannot make you whole and if you don’t learn to love yourself, you will never be happy and you will never experience real love.

Loving yourself is the most important thing that you will EVER do! It is the best gift that you will ever receive. Loving yourself will change your life. You will be happier, stronger and more confident and you will attract people to you with your energy and your whole life will start to change. Loving yourself is the first step towards leading an amazing life. You won’t need to go online to escape your real world because your new world will be better and more amazing than any online world could ever be.

If people started learning to love themselves they would find that what they were looking for online all this time was inside them the whole time.

STOP Complaining! Act or shut up!

Seriously, this is one of the most destructive behaviors that we engage in on a daily basis that guarantees that we live a shitty life. Complaining about things and doing absolutely nothing to change the situation that you are complaining about. What a bloody waste of time!

I used to be a gold metal complainer. The only thing I loved more than complaining was food lol. And when I stopped complaining, my life started to change.

Complaining is toxic. It’s toxic to you and to those around you to whom you complain. Complaining lowers your vibration and it can infect all those to whom you’ve complain to and lower their vibration too. Then they go out and complain and infect others and so forth. It’s a vicious cycle.

If something is worth complaining about, if it bothers you that much then get off your ass and do something about it! If you are complaining and have no intention of taking action to change the situation you are complaining about then shut up and focus your energy elsewhere!

I was informed that the Canadian Government was spending 1.25 million dollars on refurbished computers for new Syrian Immigrants to our country and the person sharing this “news” with me was so upset about it. “How dare the government give computers to these immigrants when some Canadians don’t even have one?” And other such bile.

Personally, I do not have a problem with spending that money on computers for new immigrants. I don’t even have a problem with the fact that Syrian Immigrants have relocated to Canada. Not just because I think that dividing people on this planet based on invisible lines we’ve drawn on a map of the globe is beyond stupid, which I do. And not only because it’s stupid to be upset about immigrants relocating to “our country” and getting “free computers on the tax payer’s dime” when some “actual Canadians” don’t own one (I mean seriously, you are born into this great country with all the bloody resources you could want at your finger tips and you still haven’t managed to make enough of your life to buy a computer? That’s a whole different conversation right there!) But the main reason why I don’t have a problem with it, is because nothing changed in my life when this 1.25 million was spent.

I didn’t check my bank balance and see that money was missing. The RCMP didn’t kick down my door and make off with my Mac Book. And my boss didn’t say “Sorry, but you are not getting paid this week because we are using this money to buy computers” None of that happened. Nothing about that purchase changed my life.

What changed my life is having to listen to someone complain about it, while having absolutely no intention of doing anything about the situation that upset them so much. What is the point of complaining? How did that better your life? How did that change anything?

If you actually cared about what you were complaining about you should get up and take real action. Did women get rights by just sitting around and complaining about the state of things? No. They stood up and took action.

So unless you plan on taking action on what you are complaining about, then don’t waste, your time and energy on pointless toxic complaining, and most certainly don’t waste mine.

And if you feel the need to lower your vibration and live in that negativity then don’t come near me. I’ve got better things to do with my time.

So, if you do one thing today to change your life for the better it’s stop all your complaining. Do so and you will see some amazing changes in your life.

STOP Waiting for People to Change!

One of the best things that I ever did for myself was no longer waiting for people to change. Instead I focused on changing myself and the things that I did not like about myself and my life.

I wanted to go to the gym and lose the last 60 pounds I still had to lose after having lost 170 pounds without a gym membership. I wanted to lose that weight as well as tone up and get some muscles going. I wanted my body to be strong and I wanted to up my health game.

My buddy said he also wanted to re join the gym and so we planned to go together. And I waited… and waited… and waited for him to finally be ready to go but he was never able to give me a straight answer on when we could go to the gym

Finally I just realized “what am I waiting for? I can hit the gym on my own. I’ve never had a work out buddy before anyways” so I grabbed my gym gear, walked the 15 mins to the gym (yes it’s that close) and signed up.

I started working out that very day. I now go to the gym Monday to Friday and lift weights and do a bit of cardio. I’ve lost 15 more pounds since then and I am even closer to my goal.

And my gym buddy? He ended up signing up a few weeks later but he only goes 3 days a week.

I learned a very important lesson from this. Stop waiting for other people! This is your life! If you want something go and get it! If you want to do something go and do it! If you wait for others you may wait FOREVER! Grab life by the balls and get out there and live it! Go for your dreams! Make Goals and achieve them! Do it now!

I Am No Longer Fear’s B*tch!

Turn fear into actionIt’s official! I am a published author! My first book The 3 Day Total Detox Cleanse went live on Amazon yesterday. I’m over the moon! I actually finished the book back in November 2015 but let fear stop me from taking the actions necessary to publish it. I kept procrastinating and making excuses and not getting the work done. And so my book just sat on my computer.

I’ve been giving my life a hard look these last few weeks and realized that I am never going to live the life of my dreams if I don’t take massive action and kick fear right in the pants. So I finally kicked it into gear. What I’d been procrastinating over for months I did in only 2 days of hard work and today I am a published author.

Granted, a lot more work has to be done and I’ve yet to sell a single book, but the point is I’m taking action. Too many of us let our dreams pass us by because we are afraid. Fear can only stop us if we let it and I for one am no longer Fear’s B*tch. I’m done. From now on I’m going for my dreams.

I heard once, that the saddest part of death is not the death of the person, but the death of all the dreams that person went to the grave with. All the things they wanted to do but never did. Write a book, start a business, travel the world. And I realized that is true. I have so much to give and so much I want to do and I’m not keeping it inside anymore.

Fear will no longer control me. I will use fear and I will turn it into action. It will be the fuel that drives me towards my goals and dreams.
